Surya Sivakumar’s Bodhidharma Character in Seventh Sense

7Tamil star Surya Sivakumar, who is known to show greater variety in his films, is coming up with a science fiction thriller ‘7th Sense’ this time. For this, he had teamed up with highly acclaimed director AR Murugadoss, who earlier made the blockbuster ‘Ghajini’ with him.

In ‘Seventh Sense’, Surya has reportedly played three characters - a circus artist, a scientist and a Buddhist monk.

The character of the Buddhist is much linked to the history and tradition. The Buddhist monk is said to be a Tamil (Pallava) prince-turned-monk Bodhidharma who is credited with the establishment of 'Zen' in the world. In the 14th century, the Tamil prince from Kancheepuram travelled to China and became a well-respected monk there.

Director A R Murugadoss said that they had done lot of research on ‘Bodhidharma’ prior to the start of the film. He said that the role was intense and required lot of practice, and added that Suriyas has done a great job in the role.

‘7th sense’ is said to be made on a whopping Rs 84 cores making it the highest budget film in Surya’s film career. Vogue beauty Shruthi Haasan played the leading lady in the film. The original version (Tamil) is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin on Red Giant Movies banner. Lakshmi Ganapati films is presenting it in Telugu.

The film features music composed by Harris Jayaraj, cinematography handled by Ravi K. Chandran and editing done by Anthony. Both the Telugu and Tamil version are set for release on 26th October for Diwali.
